Hello,
I would be appreciative if someone would open up their 43630.001 (The Wilde 13 50jahre Intercity steuerwagen) and take a picture of the wire connections at the cab end of the pcb inside the wagen, and post it here. It would be helpful to fix an issue.

Thanks.

Hello Michael
I don't have this Steuerwagen per se but the wiring is always the same for Märklin ones, I think:
- the PCB holding the components and LEDs is in one piece
- one wire brings the O (rails) ground slider in the other bogie
- one wire brings the B (studs) the PUCKO slider on the other bogie.
- two wires bring the direction information from the direction bogie in the form of a ground (rail) connection.

Here is an oblique view of the directional bogie
Sans titre.png
The principle is simple
- a drag contact is clipsed to one axle
- a double contact, attached to the bogie's axle, depending on the travel direction (forwards / reverse) connects with the drag contact which in turn is connected to the rails. Here Brown wire = forwards, Black wire = reverse

The PCB is simple:
- rectify and filter the digital current
- add resistors in series with the LEDs
- get the direction info to light either the RED or WHITE headlights

Sorry I don't have a picture of the PCB to show you

Cheers
Jean

The PCB used in the sloping front Steuerwagon that he lists has a quite different PCB to the wagons like you pictured. I don't have the exact wagon being asked about, but I have the one from the 40503 series coaches, and the PCB has been considerably reworked to fit the streamlined shape (and I don't recall it being one piece, but it is a long while since I had the coach open).

Actually this has a pcboard that has a decoder included. I was able to confirm that all is well with the wagen, so I don't need the picture.

I opened mine to install figures. If memory serves, the decoder is a function only type with no motor or sound controls. The Marklin decoder list online has a manual for each with which terminals connect to lights, etc. This model has a current conducting coupler switch, low beam and long distance headlights, cab light, interior lighing, and direction reverses for head/marker lights.
Did you crash it badly and tear wires?
