Hi guys,

Need some help here. I'm looking forward in buying a V200 early version with the 'Deutsche Bundesbahn' spelled out on the sides. Im looking for a prototipical consist to acompany her.

Any suggestions? On scale coach lenght is a must, so no 1/00 or 1/96 coaches.

Looking forward to you ideas!

Rinus

The locos V 200 001 to 055 were ordered prior to the introduction of the DB emblem. Therefore they received the large lateral aluminum lettering „DEUTSCHE BUNDESBAHN“. As of the mid-1960s, the lettering was replaced by the DB emblem. Serial production started in 1956 (first trial in 1953). Thus, the scene is set between the mid-1950s and the mid-1960s.

As determined in a parallel thread, the Blauer Enzian is one candidate:

Hi Rinus,
In addition to the advice given by Ak, I would add the following.

Marklin produced scale length schurzenwagen in various eras and liveries. These real cars were much shorter than the 26.4 metre cars produced in the late 1950s
One example is the 43209, and 43219 sets, where the lettering matches an early V200.
Also the Merkur set 43290 was as far as I know, scale length, also lighted.
And of course the Blaue Ensign sets.

regards
Kimball
HO Scale - Märklin (ep II-III and VI, C Track, digital) - 2 rail HO (Queensland Australia, UK, USA) - 3 rail OO (English Hornby Dublo) - old clockwork O gauge - Live Steam 90mm (3.1/2 inch) gauge.

Rinus.

How about this one (Luebeck - Frankfurt)? http://www.heinrich-hank...ildung/1956_db_00212.htm
(Coach segment Hannover-Frankfurt)
Nice mix of DB, CIWL, DSB, SBB and FS coaches.

Thanks for the replies guys!

As I have quite a lot of longdistance day- and nighttrains allready, I think I'll go for a regular "D" train.

I love the nice blue and green coaches of these days.

Any suggestions who makes these coaches on scale lenght?

Hi, Rinus,

Is this the link:
http://www.jarke.de/inde...t=unterwegs-mit-V200-116

If you are referring to image 9 of 13: the cheapest source for such coaches is Piko (make sure to get them with AC wheelsets).
Roco make them a bit nicer, but the price is a bit higher.

I painted the interior of my Piko coaches and wanted to share some pictures anyway. I'll post them one of these days.
Regards
Tom

Rinus,

If you are looking for top quality 1/87 coaches, the blue and green UIC-X coaches (Gruppe 53/54) were available in Era III from Hobbytrain (manufactured by LSM/Modern Gala). They might be a little hard to find after a few years. LSM did release later (Era IV) versions of these coaches (Pop, Blue and Green with UIC markings, Turquoise/Beige with black skirt, Turquoise/Beige with Turquoise Skirt and beige stripe)

You can check with Uli Reyer, Huenerbein and on ebay to see if you can still find these.

In the USA try Eurolokshop. The website does not provide "in stock" listings, so you have to ask.

Roco also had the UIC Gruppe 53 with digitally operated doors which would make for a cool consist.

Thanks guys!

The Reisezugwagen site Mike mentioned LINK is realy nice. I visited before, but never thought it was actually an online shop ... Blink

I Think I'll go for these LS Model ones, maybe with an additional red 'Speisewagen'.

Rinus,

due to the time since it's release, the LS Models coach sets may be hard to find. I think that they still have the era III version, which was released under the Hobbytrain brand, in stock.
It may still be possible to find some of the LSM Era IV versions on auction sites and at a few dealers who ordered quantities when it was released.

I don't have LS Models coaches, but those I have seen were very nice.

My review about Piko Hobby coaches is now available here:
