article numbers.
The lists is sorted by the Märklin article number.

Primex
was a brand made by Märklin from 169 to 1992, often simplified versions of
Märklin models, meant for sale in super markets etc.
Primex came in orange boxes.
This is an example from Primex 4544
I have other Primex boxes with printed numbers and text on the ends.
Primex 4544, DB Gm 39 / Ibbls 210, 083 4 042-4
L = 11,5 cm. This is version 5 of this Primex car. I have installed
the close couplers.
Version 1: no banana man, DB Gm 39 no 248 680, 10 cm, 1976, based on the old
Märklin 4505 (8 versions, 1952-1975).
version 2: as v.1, with banana man,1977-1979.
version 3: as v.1, bigger DB text, banana man and "jamaica" in black text.
1979-1981.
version 4: as in the photo, but car chassis type A, DB Ibbls 210 no. 083 4
042-4. 11.5 cm. 1982-1983.
version 5: as v. 4 but with car chassis B. 1982-1984. I bought this in
Oslo in 2007.
Primex 4596, DB Gllmh 49 204 711
L = 19,9 cm. This Primex model was produced by Märklin 1989-1992. I bought
it in Oslo in 2008.
