Märklin 26471, Swiss Historic passenger train, Spanisch Brötli Bahn,
from the Swiss North Bahn, SNB.

Updated 09.02.2014

This us a limited special (Sonder-Zugpackung) from 1997 for the Swiss railway 150 years anniversary. I bought mine in Oslo the same year.

The locomotive and cars are unique to this digital set, and to the analogue 28471 set).
Two men comes with the set.  we also see one of the special couplers.  The train length is 45 cm.

As far as I understand, some rich families in Zürich almost daily sent some of their staff to a famous bakery in Baden with the morning train, to pick up fresh rolls for breakfast.  Therefore the popular name Spanisch Brötli Bahn, Spanish roll train).

A nice video on youtube

The locomotive

26471-1 SNB 1/3 Limmat

Märklin Archiv v. 4.80 from 2004 lists this locomotive as item 0015 version 1. L = 13,6 cm.
Version 2 is the locomotive from set 28471, with  Delta decoder.
SBB restored this 1847 locomotive for their 100 years anniversary in 1947, partly from the initial parts, but they had to build some new parts

It can be seen in the Verkehrshaus der Schweiz in Luzern

One of my photos from a visit in 2006:

The metal sign:

I do like the scentence "Das Hochheben von Spazierstöcken und Regenschirmen ist lebensgefärlich:
High rising of walking sticks and umbrellas is dangerous to your life.
I am not sure why; back in those days there were no catenaries.  Maybe the sign is newer than 1847?
