This is a blue version of the S 3/6, issued for the German toy store chain
"Idee+Spiel". This was one of the first of the new generation of
models after Märklin upgraded the detailing and looks of their S 3/6 (BR
18.4).

This is a very beautiful model, definitely nicer and more detailed than
the older versions like 3318 (or 3618). Märklin have done a good job by
gently reworking the model. Wheels are finer, the valve gear is much
better looking, new details are added etc... The imprint "BAYERN"
on the cab and the tender look toy like though....
But a good looking model like this definitely
deserves a 6090-type drive set. It would have been nice to have
the electronics with sound as it's "sister model" 37184 has...
Let's hope Märklin will bring the sound options (with steam chuff sound
too) as add-on kits to the 60901 decoder.
