I am currently powering the track for my digital locomotives through a 6021 system and plan on powering the catenary for the time being using an old analog blue transformer control.

Obviously since the catenary only has one B connection I assume that I have to tie the O (brown wire) connection together for the 2 systems. Is that going to cause some weird electronic disturbances in the O ground wire that could cause unexpected operation in either the digital or analog mode?

Ultimately when I have converted my electrical locomotives to digital I plan on feeding the catenary through a digital booster supply and this concern will disappear.

Comments or suggestions?

Thanks
Peter

This has been discussed several times on this forum - and even Märklin Magazine confirms that it can be done.

But never ever make a connection between catenary and centre rail, this will most likely kill your digital controller.

Tom

Thanks Tom.

Totally agree with your comment of never connecting the centre rail and catenary. I'm sure that would fry the electronics immediately.
