Here is a video of my OeBB Rh 2043 Diesel loco with sound.
I was surprised with 18 fully loaded (real iron ore) carriages the loco had no trouble pulling the train.

followed by an OeBB Rh 1141 mixed freight

Can't stop the trains running

This video is about a Marklin Oebb Rh 1141, converted to digital (ESU decoder) with led's on both sides.
the other loco is a Liliput which I ahve also converted and added the missing rails.
This loco is a very poor performer, lacks in power and I found the motor very weak.
My next video will be an OEBB Rh 1110 or 1010.

Today the journey goes on through Austria.

I've come across this heavy freight train on route to Italy on the famous Brenner track, its an OeBB Rh 1010 and it has help from Rh 1141 as a backup.

Rinus,

I should be ashamed of myself not having one of these beauties in my collection but I'm looking constantly for a reasonable priced one to come along.

another Austrian beauty: mine is a 1670.11

Here are some of my sources for info on OBB trains:

http://www.modellbahninfo.org/

http://gamos81.altervista.org/
Under MODELLI EUROPEI select one of the categories and then Austria/OBB
including:
http://gamos81.altervist.../Loco_elettriche/OBB.php
http://gamos81.altervist...tero/Loco_diesel/OBB.php
http://gamos81.altervist...ero/Elettrotreni/OBB.php
http://gamos81.altervist.../Estero/Carrozze/OBB.php

http://www.vagonweb.cz/razeni/

and http://e.bournez.free.fr/Eurocity.html

As most of you already know, my focus is on Swiss trains. There are however, a number of Austrian Eurocity (EC) and Euro Nacht (EN) trains that come into Switzerland. Most of the ECs have now been replaced by the modern Railjet trainsets. Thanks to my Maerklin (1:100), Roco, RailTop, LSM and Liliput models, I have been able to recreate many of those train consists in HO.

Regards

Here is a photo of two of my OBB coaches (Memoba/LSM 97202) WLABm ex-CNL and (RailTop 32515) Bcmz, both in upgrading livery. These coaches are part of my consist of the EN "Wiener Walzer" which consists of coaches from Zuerich to Budapest with coaches to Salzburg/Prague and Vienna in the consist.

The full consist includes a mix of OBB and MAV coaches. In previous calendar years, it also included SBB Bcm couchette coaches (Roco 44976) that now belong to RAlpin, the Swiss ROLA company. The MAV coaches run the full route. The OBB couchette and sleeper coaches make up two sections, one that is detached in Salzburg and goes on to Prague, the other which is detached in Vienna.

The full consist can be seen here: http://www.reisezuege.ch...action=5&znummer=467

The images still show the double deck sleepers in their original blue livery (LSM 47001). They have since been repainted in the current "Upgrading" livery.
The lok for the Zuerich-Buchs segment is a Re 4/4II. For the Austrian segment, the lok is usually a Taurus (1016/1116 or 1044).

Another ÖBB loco will be reinforcing my collection soon.

I've laid my hand on another Marklin Rh 1012. This time the 1012-002 (37308). The Rh1012-003 (37309) was allready in my collection.

Just in case Mike will not be impressed enough to lend us his coaches: I 'll put 2 x 1044 + 2 x 1042 and 2 x 1020 in front together with your 1116, 1043, 1042, 1010, 1014 in the back of them!BigGrin

Rinus,

I was looking at new the Rivarossi BBOe loco 1073 but heard not so impressive comments about it.

Some comments have been made similar to Mike's comments about the authenticity of some of the details.

Hi all,

Lots of idea's but lack of funding. I guess we have to deal with it.

This leaves me often thinking about which models to buy in the future.

Here is my wishlist:
1. Roco Rh 1144 in Wortmark livery (new version, which sould be fantastic)
2. Roco or Jägerndorfer Rh 1116 (I'm in doubt which one is best)
3. Roco Br 185 Locomotion
4. Jägerndorfer Rh 4020 (has some theething problems, have to wait for re-tooled version)
5. Piko Rh 4030 Blauer Blitz
6. Roco Rh 2143 (currently under development - expected 2013)

When posible with sound of course.

Looking forward to your thoughts!

Rinus,

no sound decoder as yet, but all the coonections are ready to connect one.

Have you explored the Austrian forum ? this is if you speak German

some of the members have a very good knowledge of Austrian locos and the latest discussion is about the ÖBB Rh 1073 from Rivarossi, some fantastic scratchbuildings from older steam locos and photos from older electric Arlberg freight locos (Rh 1080) from about 1928

Purchases: I'm tossing up between Rh 93 for A$ 149.00, Rh 1073 and the Rh 16.08

a website withlots of Austrian steam locos, diesels and electrics

Märklin has had a model 4232 (as had Roco 45305) in a livery of DB AG as seen on the picture in this link.
This DB AG coach is a couchette (Liegewagen) Bcm 247 is the marking on the Roco model.

On the photos from the Brennerbahn in Tirol, it looks more like an ordinary ÖBB TS2 sleeping coach that has been produced by Roco 64756 (ÖBB and TEEN logos) and a long time ago by Märklin 4155 (TEEN logo). A coach of that type is seen here.

Hi John! I work in a german/dutch company so the german language is familiar to me Cool .

You meant bahnforum.info?

Yes I certainly have. Nice forum, very informative. Allthough they share a common sort of humor I don't quite understand.

I was a member once for some time, but the inability to see or upload pictures or start topics, when being in a junior rank, did not encouraged me to participate. I could not see the pictures in the link you sent me earlier of the guy building a piece of the Brennerbahn too. Too bad. Besides that I keep an eye on there discussions about new models.

About your list, i'd say I'd pick this one. Full options of course Drool :

Hallo ÖBB troopers.

Today the train journey continuous east into Styria and the beautiful Selztal, Rh 1016 is heading towards Bruck/Mur and Vienna with an expresstrain from Salzburg.
Another one followed soon afterwards with a Rh 1043.

2 hours later another Rh 1016 appeared but with drastic consequences, the loco derailed and the Pantograph got tangled with the overheadwire.
To tell you the truth it was the other way around.

This delayed us for hours and not to waste any time I took some nightphotos

Rinus,

if you are interested in the Memoba/LS Models OBB Sleepers (ex-CNL), I saw that Memoba still has it listed on the website.
