The point is surely you want to own Locos that run well and you enjoy using.
If you are happy to keep duds that is of course entirely up to yourself but at least why not get your dealer to order a new speaker for your 39010. As for the BR45 I would reject that and get a refund and buy something I would have fun with.
At present Marklin thinks you are a happy customer and they will only improve if guys like us let then know what is going wrong.
David
Take care I like Marklin and will defend the worlds greatest model rail manufacturer.

From comments above, I guess I should be waiting for the other shoe to drop...

[size=1" face="Verdana" id="quote]quote:And Märklin has issues… It took more than six months before I got two locos back from Märklin, and one they just returned without any action (that’s my E10 with the fingerprints from one of Märklin’s employees on the DB-logo). My 39420 was sent to Märklin in the middle of Mars and yesterday my dealer told me that it’s still “in line for action”.
Torbjörn,
You aren't by any chance using a Swedish dealer who goes through the national distributor (BRIO), are you? Because if you do that, the delay problem could very well be there and not with Märklin. (Well, it is with Märklin somehow, since they are keeping BRIO as the national distributor).

Hej Per!
I mainly use two Swedish dealers and both buy directly from Märklin. How they deal with complaints and repairs I can't say with 100% certainty. I don't know if there's an agreement about these matters between Märklin/BRIO/dealers...
To my knowledge, one of the first dealers to buy directly from Märklin was Tåghuset i Halmstad, and when I dealt with them many years ago they sent at least repairs to BRIO...
To be honest, I've always assumed that my dealers dealt directly with Märklin in these matters. At least they say "We've talked to Märklin and they said...". And the plastic bags in which you receive spare-parts seems to come directly from Märklin and they have my dealers name and addresses printed on them.
But I'll ask them, maybe that's why it's taking so long...
And regarding Märklin and BRIO, I guess it's always hard to leave an old marriage!
(To non-Swedes; BRIO has been Märklins Swedish distributor since 1938.)

...Thanks, Maerklin for your quality, at least in recent years.

Hey Torbjörn, maybe that is why it took so long
- Sorry guys but I just had to have a giggle with this - I know this is a serious topic.
No offence Torbjörn, but you gave me a good laugh.
I have stopped buying M for most of this year [:(][:(] - kids univesrity fees have dried up my M budget... so have had no new models for quite some time so can't comment on quality for now..
Regards Tony
