Hi,

I am trying to get an old turntable working again. The fellow who sold it to me showed me how to wire it up, but unfortunately I didn't take notes, and consequently I now can't remember how to wire it up. I don't have the original controller so I used a marklin 7211 or 7072 controller.
Any assistance would be appreciated.

Hi Barney, see wiring diagram below

ftp://ftp.marklin.com/pub/Old%20Manuals/7186.jpeg

Hope this is enough to help you get it going.

Edit: Lars The diagram is enough if Barney intends to use switch control box for manual operation. For digital control see page 8 of Electronics 2 by Rutger Friberg or page 130 of the Marklin 0303 digital handbook.

Barney, You could wire it up using toggle switches, 1 single pole change over will do for the direction control, the common should be connected to the (L) and the two wires marked "I" in the diagram go to no/nc contact of the switch. Another toggle switch is used for the on/off function, the common being wired to "L" and the no contact of the switch wired to the wire in the diagram marked as "II"

Make sure you wire the masse (0) at point 3 in the diagram to make it work as this is the return path for the power.
I hope this is more clear for all.Smile

I don't understand the answer. The diagram uses the original box, which isn't present, doesn't it?

I think both Märklin digital handbook, and Rutger Fribergs old digital book described how to do it digitallly, and would suffice also for you, but unfortunately it's at home...
