My still wish list is newly tooling BR23 and and flexible C-track.

What is your wish list for 2008 new items?

I hope they will bring out the slim DKW in C-tracks.
The flixible track also.
Then I hope for new tooling of the BR23 and BR24.

But rather than keep pumping out new products (some of which during the last many years have proven to be flawed with problems), I would like them to try to get things right and calm things down. Hopefully regaining some of the costumer faith which seems to me to be evaporating;

I hope K-track will be continued as it is.
I hope that their new soft-sine work correctly, and that new models actually WORK and are of high quality.
I hope they will sort out their digital system, and launch the missing key components.
Best regards

I would like to see a steam ocomotive decorated for Christmas to pull the Christmas cars.

A new reliable turntable.

The HO scale Commodore Vanderbilt perhaps.

As Insider locomotive - Southern Pacific 4-8-8-2 cab Forward ocomotive with Tender. A really massive cool looking locomotive. They are being produced by Precision Craft right now.

Always a good topic and forwarding to M - brilliant.

Agree with Frostie about Christmas steam engine. I think that snow
weathered track would fly out the window, good profit on relatively
inexpensive to make item?

Most of all an S 2/6, limited edition of high quality item like the
Comm. Vanderbilt would get my attention for sure.Of course an m-users
wagon would be a nice stocking filler don't you think?

Jeremy.

Yep! I agree that a Christmas steamer is a great idea too... Must be some Christmas trains in places like Norway or Sweden to use as the prototype...

Thanks to all the supporters for the Christmas Steamer. I currently use my 37186 S 3/6 it is a lovely blue with gold trim. All they would have to do is add some christmas decorations and maybe add a mfx loksound decoder and some christmas songs.

I don't have any specific wishes for loks...I'm still trying to digest the 2007 selections. Smile I finally ordered my 39050 BR05 Insider (right under the wire). I had a hard time with this one since I'm not a dampfkopf (my taste runs more to electrics) but this is a stunning model. In the end I just couldn't resist it. My wife wishes I had shredded the form when I initially decided not to get it. wink I guess my wish for anything new would be a retooling of K track with the connection and electrical characteristics of C track. I'm not that hung up on the code 90 vs code 100 issue, but the better electrical characteristics in K would be nice.

High on the wish list: tank car with the new BP logo (green flower). If possible in 2 and 4 axle version. Tank car of Q8 and Chevron, never produced as far as I know.
Hungarian NOHAB, but simply with motor and decoder will do.

What is your wish list for 2008 new items?

I have planned to copy this topic forum to send by post to Marklin chief/managers by 7 May.

Please keep posted and make sure perfect good topic.

Steven, I admire your initiative!

On my 2008 wishlist I have precisely the same things as on my 2007 wishlist, which are the same as on my 2006 wishlist, which, in turn, is identical with my 2005 and 2004 wishlist, etc. etc.

1: a US era III 0-6-0 or 0-8-0 steamer for shunting operations, UPRR version would be perfect. That's something really missing in M's US program!
2: US coaches, same era, for the UPRR or PRR. UPRR heavyweights would be nice, even better would be a combination of UPRR light weight and heavy weight coaches. So the really excellent collection of US passenger locos (PA, GG-1, F7) made by Märklin would have adequate coaches. I saw Athearn, Frateschi, etc. products. All nice in principle but they have their ugly compromises, too.
3: A nice UPRR express steamer would be a nice completion. Perhaps not the famous #844 4-8-4 (there are so many on the market!), rather take a Hudson or Pacific.

Please don't think that I am an impatient customer: I got my UP F7 A-units in 1970 (I was 7 years old), and my B-unit (#40631) in 2003 (produced by not earlier than 1996). 26 years! Well, no problem, I have finally got it biggrin. But in another 26 years (from now on) i'll be 70!

I would like to see some more early Era 1 Steam Locos, particularly in Bavarian Livery. At this time most of M's fans seem not to be very interested in Era 1, but which came first the chicken or the egg?

Why do they produce the US items where there is so much competition from US manufacturers?

I, for one would like to learn of M's comments, when and if you get any.

Guus - If the BR 05 has some of the features that the Bellingrodt BR 45 came with, and I assume it will be nearly identical feature-wise, you are likely to be pleased. I'm not a steamer kinda guy but was really delighted with the BR 45. See my post and review in the Bellingrodt thread for details.

Starting early this year aren't we?

For me:
Heavyweight US Cars, in metal. They will cost a fortune but that will get some of the Trix market as well. At $45 each (and about $30 on the internet) the walthers one are too damn good...
Marklin- I know you have plans for these sitting there!!!

On the Swiss Front (my main interest) I would like a Be 4/6, and a full size steamer. I was pretty happy with last years bits so I am a bit content for now.

One (or two) new C-track piece(s) of 30 degrees (15 degrees) with a very wide Radius, far beyond R9 - almost straight, so one could lay a very slight curve say over half a meter or so (1.5 feet), one you normally only can do with a flexible track. That would suit any layout except pure circles. (Wishfull thinking, I know!) [^]
Edited: Would most likely screw up the various software track systems (like win-track).
But never the less!

1. Flexible C-track.
2. A greater selection of (wide radius) curves and turnouts in the C-track system.
3. A much improved turntable with C-track connectors.

Märklin has a great selection of models, but their selection in C-tracks is way too limited for my taste.
Best regards, Voller.

I hope 4004 / 4005 (1972 catalogue) will return in the Hobby programm. There are no such cars at the moment made by Märklin. If possible, not in green, but in brown or brown/creme. The Fleischmann car I now have is very beautifull, but also the most expensive model I own at the moment.

<br />I hope 4004 / 4005 (1972 catalogue) will return in the Hobby programm. There are no such cars at the moment made by Märklin. If possible, not in green, but in brown or brown/creme. The Fleischmann car I now have is very beautifull, but also the most expensive model I own at the moment.

Hi Zora,
the 330/4004/4005 have been made until 1986, and they are frequently offered on eBay,
even in nice sets:

The 4200-4209 series (1987-1999) are much alike, and yes, 4208/4209 are brown. Smile

I would also welcome a return of the F7's and a new E7 AB set, both in UP livery ...

... and a re-issued 37343 Re 4/4 II in TEE livery ...

1. More italian locos. Such as a this great E 626 from Roco (now discountinued) and that still fetches over 200 Euros on E-bay.

2. A BLS Ae 4/4 with Mfx and sound

<br />As in the same topic for 2007:

A model of the "Flåmsbana" trainset
UserPostedImage

It consist normally of two El 17 locos and a number of coaches between them.

Actually I just booked my tickets for Norway this summer (July). One of the trips I will take is from Flam to Myrdal to Oslo. I trust it is worth the money as I have heard stunning comments on this wonderful train trip.
Your country is beautiful Intruder and I am pretty sure that my wife and I will have a great time there!!!
Hurtigruten from Trondheim to Bergen is also in the schedule.
So I surely support your GREAT IDEA for a Maerklin Flambana model in Year 2008. It will be just perfect!!!

... What I said here.

More K tracks including 28°52' and 90° crossings, a wye turnout, larger circles I and II curved turnouts, and a four-turnout double crossover.

... And this for the C-Track fans :

I think a HO scale Commodore Vanderbilt would be great and some coaches to go with the GG1.
Also a US diesel switcher with telex for shunting such as an ALCO RS1 would be a nice addition to the US range.
