John,
I like that blue croc lots! Looks like a full size Marklin croc and a Marklin Seetal had an offspring!!!
Regarding biotech- sort of. For the last 8+ years, I have worked for two pharm and biotech capital equipment suppliers. Prior to that, I spent my first 5 years out of college with Bristol Myers Squibb. The company I work for now makes solid dosage equipment (hoists, IBCs, blenders, tablet coaters, granulators, mills, etc.). The first capital equipment supplier made fermentors and bioreactors (with which I used to work while at Bristol). Both suppliers are headquartered in Germany.

Hi,
1) C-Curved turnouts between R4-R5 or better yet, R5-R6 (new, wider radius) 2) Flexible C-track!!! If Roco could, why not Märklin? 3) Double crossing switches for C-Track (the current ones do not allow switching). 3) Less overall plastic in locomotives, and interior cabin details please! 4) 303 mm passenger coaches (correct 1:87 scale). 5) Retooling of BR-23, BR-24, BR-41, E-90. 6) Reissue of the TEE RAm in the correct scale lenght, but all metal (what a missed opportunity for Trix!) 7) More American models, including a retooled F7 or any other steam locomotive.
All of this is wishful thinking of course... Will Märklin ever drop the deplorable "toy train" mentality and oblige?
Greetings to all, Armando |

Hi Jim,
I sent a private email to follow up the career discussion. Not relevant to the thread and probably not interesting to anyone else.

The 37667 MY 1135 from DSB (NOHAB) is a very great locomotive. I do not regret that I pre-orderered, and bought this item in the summer 2006. I recieved it in november 2006 when the train come out. If you're having an ESU LokProgrammer, you can change the horn and other sounds. The train is having 8 sound slots, you can change between. There are two horns sounding like a flute, and two like I would call a "horn". I was not satisfied with the "compressed air" sound on f5, since I was required to call the second motorola address with my IB. Therefore I modified my settings with the ESU LokProgrammer, it's a very great locomotive. Now, f5 (f1 at address 2), is f1 on the address 1, which was not in use from the delivery. A little picture of my MY 1135 is following. Sorry the quality, the photo has been taken with a Sony Ericsson K750i phone, that has a 2 megapixel camera. The two "horns" as I will describe them, and the standard horn (adr. 1, f3) is available in my little sound file here: http://www.digitaltog.eu/sounds/MY1135.wavI used this file to send to a friend of mine, as a sample. Therefore it's a little bit long, its around 1 minute. The horns is almost in the end of the sound. :-) I like the Big Boy, a small video of it made me choose to buy it. Therefore I reserved it to next time I'm getting money. A small demo-video someone at the Danish forum (www.sporskiftet.dk/forum/) made, were making me choose that it was an item I really had to buy. :-) Also I would like the #37500 Northlander, if I find it somewhen. I saw it at one of my friend's house. I find this a great locomotive too. Also I like the 4025 DSB car. My father was too late to buy any of these cariages, therefore I do not have any of them now. They were out near the time I were born. That's the reason I didnt order any of them myself, that time. [:o)] |

something else I saw at a visit to Reynauld's Euro Imports last summer for HO - I can't remember the manufacturer and it was just an announcement in a brochure, was HO forktruck or maybe it was a container truck/hoist. It was to be digitally controlled. I think it had to run on a small plate and could steer in many directions, forward/reverse, and pick up a load.
I also like the Roco (AC) 357 Taurus speed record setter. sort of sounds like a revolver.

Con-Rail (www.con-rail.at ; site not accessible at present) have announced a remote-controlled forktruck: forward/reverse, steering, lift, and tilt fork - to be the first with a wireless DCC decoder. They have also announced a 867 MHz wireless RF DCC router.[:p] |

My list:
1) Br 05 (Insider) 2) Br 10 37083 3) Amtrak streamliners 4) Br 45 5) TEE - VT 11.5
The biggest problem is that I am a poor student [:o)] and that makes it not realy easy to get al these items....

Since I am a user of only the first 60 pages of the Märklin catalogue, I have some suggestions:
1) Could a steam locomotive with tender return in the Hobby programme? The Primex catalogue had some. 2) Can there be some more variations made on base of the goods car frame? A (removable) container car must be possible, but also a gas car and a cattle car/horse box. 3) Tipper car 4413 with another color (yellow, gray?). 4) Some more variation in the passenger car. Maybe the frame of 4473 can be used. 5) The frame of 4473 maybe also used for 4-axle goods cars in the Hobby programme. |
You are never too late to become a Märklin fan. |

Hello Armando, We are in sync again... I agree on flex C-track, curved turnouts and double slip crossing for large radii, 1:87 cars, new BR23/24 Loks, better interior cabin details. Also, no motor in the Führerhaus (already implemented in several new Loks, such as BR55 and BR01) and DCC compatible decoders. As you've said, just wishful thinking. Best regards, |

1. The V200 (39800) 2. The class 103.1 express electric loco (39572) 3. The class 41 fast freight loco (37921) 4. The class 03 express loco (37953) 5. The class 10 loco (37083) Besides this, I wish that Marklin would put the efforts into translating the books that are not already available in English, such as "07455 Track Plan Book for C Track" or "07456 Book "Planen – Bauen – Fahren" ("Planning – Building – Operating"). " and the list can continue. Better customer service (as rumor goes around, it is already on its way). That's it for me for now. |

An outsider. I'm looking for the owner of that horse. He's tall, blonde, he smokes a cigar, and he's a pig!
