I am a long term member but infrequent poster, but always get good, useful information here.

I am starting on a new layout. I have used and still use Rail Modeller and have for a long while. I have come across some 3800 and 3900 track and I want to use it in the new layout.

As far as I can figure Rail Modeller doesn't support the 3800/3900 track.

I have been looking at Wintrack since it does support 3800/3900 track, but Wintrack is cumbersome to use. using Rail Modeller I was up and planning in an hour or so.
Not so with Wintrack. I've slogged through a dozen or so learning modules but it's not helping or not quickly.

I'm just trying to fit a layout together and outline the space. Is there a quick and dirty way to do this using wintrack or a way to add 3800/3900 to Rail Modeller?

Thanks,
Kevin

SCARM has Märklin M-3900 library for download.

Wintrack is excellent, despite of its learning-curve. I used it for designing my own layout 20 years ago, but a lot has happened with it since then (most of which I am not familiar with)

Thanks Henrik. I actually started tinkering with SCARM before I posted and went deeper after your post. It only took a few minutes to get the basics down. Should work for me. Went for enough with the free version to see how I could use 3900 series with the 'modern' 5100/5200 series. I found one way that will work. I'll put up another post to see what other recommendations others have for combining the two track series.
Thanks again,
Kevin
