Well, Marklin seem to have excelled themselves on how to make a wagon expensive. the new wagon is a cab control car, with the artists painting on only one side - at 200 euros - and you only get one if you apply in the raffle. The G1 version is 1800 euro. Details hereEdited by moderator 10 May 2025 10:22:01(UTC)

Hello,
Not sure if I should laugh or cry... Something isn't right... Maybe it's something in the drinking water...
Cheers, Andry

Well, Goofy, if you really like the wagen, calculate what you spend on beers and dates. Figure how much of each to forgo to pay for the train. Or just save a few euro each week elsewhere. I still see people collecting empty beverage cans off the streets and fields. A ten cent can times ten is still a dollar. Even I did it during the recession. One day walking to the store I found a $20 in the parking lot. I don't understand littering. It's not environmental friendly and I learned the value of saving my pennies at a young age. I wasn't handed an allowance without doing chores in exchange growing up. I also wasn't allowed to drive my parents car after getting my license unless I helped pay the insurance, and they didn't buy me one for high school graduation. I've seen well heeled adult men toss dollar bills into the urinals at work to see if they would be gone in the next break for kicks. They would also spend 200 euro for a wagen. I think the price is also paying for the artists commissions so there may be that. I have seen better art, but some less attractive art has also become highly collected and valued.

Märklin are smart. Why should all the profits go to the collectors when they resell the item? No! Märklin will take the profit to start with. For some collectors there is an alternative word that starts with 's' but with 2 less letters. This item is not for me anyway. Kimball Edited by user 01 April 2025 11:31:36(UTC)

What is the base price of one of these end wagons anyway? I think around EUR 110. |

Not the wagon (or price point) for me, but interested to see how this plays out. Lots of collectors out there. |

I did a google search and here is what I found: The number of OSGEMEOS x Märklin Message Wagons produced is not explicitly stated in the provided search results. However, the purchase is limited to one wagon per person. The allocation of wagons is determined by a lottery system, according to Märklin's website. The wagons are available in two sizes (gauge 1 and H0).

What happened is as per post #19 (the one immediately before the post of yours that I am quoting). i.e. there were 2 topics with the same theme so I merged them both. It's always best to check before you post in case someone else has opened a similar topic to what you want to open. Also, I removed the capitalisation in the heading because typing sentences into any forum on the internet in capitals is regarded as SHOUTING!
