Im so new to this hobby, i recently got this model from Broadway HO scale which is DC/DCC. I currently run a Marklin tracks and control will this train operate on this set-up

Marklin is a company. They make two and three rail tracks. Under the Trix name they sell two rail HO tracks. It would run on Trix two rail tracks but you would need to find the proper controller.

I suppose it's worth it's weight in brass. It isn't silver or gold. There may be a market for it to someone looking for "a thousand tiny points of light" ha-ha.  More so down there than up here certtainly.

Next to my Maerklin tracks, I have a track made of similar C-Track from Trix. On that track, I run my DC models (analog). As your model is DCC, you could use it on such a track while using a MS2 or CS and DCC. The only thing is that the locomotive could not be used on the track with the third rail without a conversion.

If so it may be worth looking at the parts list for a Marklin SD44AC to see what the difference is in parts. It may well be possible to fit a slider and whatever other modifications are required to run on a Marklin system.
