Hi All,

I have inherited some Marklin sets and am based in the UK, near London. It hasn't been used for at least the past 30 years and looks in immaculate condition in original boxes with instructions. The boxes are all in German as my Uncle married a German Lady so no doubt purchased it over there.

I have the following:
2976 Hobby
3395 DELTA Pilot BR003
5191 Set

The set looks in great condition and obviously is great quality. Please can someone help and good me to a dealer or give advice how and where to sell this.

Many Thanks,

Owen.

Hi Owen,

The 2976 is an ICE train set with track and controller
The 3395 is class 03 steam loco and delta controller
The 5191 is a track set, electric points I think.

Unfortunately the market for Marklin in the UK is quite small and your items, even though in good condition are old in terms of their technology. In terms of dealers, there are some who would be prepared to make you an offer but it won’t be very exciting. I am currently trying to dispose of a huge collection of similar vintage and it’s hard work. For guidance I sold a similar loco to 3395 for £75.

I suggest you try Rails of Sheffield, Mr Sud (on eBay) and Contikits. That would give you an idea of what you might get for them but your best bet would be to sell them individually on eBay. Especially now as eBay is not charging any fees.

Hope this helps. If I can be of any further assistance just shout!

All the best
Adrian

Hi Owen

As Adrian says to try the two dealers mentioned or Mount Tabor models.

In terms of the 2976 I may be interested in that, if you can provide more details please.
