Hi,
I was wondering if there is any information on the whereabouts of the Marklin Display that was Hahndorf pre-2000's.
The only info I can find is an old Postcard I bought from eBay and one other photo online on a very old tourism website.
The Website states:
This is what was said at the time about the shop; One of the famous attractions of Hahndorf, and conveniently located in the heart of town, is the German Model Train Land at 47 Main St. The display is in the town's original 1839 butcher shop, one of Hahndorf's oldest buildings. It captures the Bavarian countryside, complete with four trains whizzing along train tracks, through tunnels, over bridges, and through the pretty townships. Great attention has been given to detail of the countryside and villages, and you can see such intricate figures as a mechanic working on his car, a blacksmith forging a horse-shoe, and passengers waiting on the station in Bonn. The castle at Liechtenstein, the Town Hall of Freiberg, and parks and gardens are all there in miniature, capturing the gaiety and spirit of Bavaria.
I used to live in the neighbouring city of Balhannah and had childhood friends now passed who used to help out at the shop.

Hi,
If you will use the search option of this forum, you will get four posts relating to Hahndorf. All from 2015. Pretty interesting read, and not altogether too much, so fits in one page.
I think that's about it what is being known on here, but I don't know whether this will answer your enqiry.

I like M-track and my things that run on it were built between 1959 and 1972. |
