Hello fellow modellers,
I have a question related to Trix C-track turnouts. I would like to ask if Trix C-track turnouts route the power the way the turnout is set and hence isolate the other route? I need this functionality as I will go analogue and would like to naturally isolate tracks in the station using the turnouts. Thanks.

In fact no it does not work like that with the Trix C-track turnouts.
Fleischmann do but i am not really sure if Fleischmanns clever design turnouts still produce today?
If you want use Trix C tracks i recommended you use signal work via contact track before entrance stations area. |

Hello Roger, I can confirm that what Goofy wrote in his reply is correct. I use Trix C track to test my 2 rail collection. On the 62711 turnout (a slim switch) the frog section (a single metal casting 32.5mm long) is always dead! That is regardless of how the turnout is aligned. Electrical conductivity is maintained between each diverging main rail (which starts at the toe of the turnout) and the corresponding heel rail which lies at, and is isolated from, the rear of the frog. Regardless of which route is set at the toe of the turnout, the heel of the turnout always agrees with the main rail. Both switch blades are electrically and physically connected and polarity agrees with the main rail to which they are switched. Either switch blade might touch the back of a wheel of the opposite polarity, so wrongly gauged wheels could cause a short. Kimball Edited by user 04 July 2024 07:52:38(UTC)

I'm not a Trix nor 2 rail specialist (but have many 2 rail friends), so this question intrigued me. I checked the Trix turnout 62711 instructions:  bbdde7247f25fb0211485bfa1b040c641434536011.pdf (696kb) downloaded 32 time(s).. Refer to page 8 - it seems there is a jumper plug underneath to choose from powered or non-powered frog. I don't know exactly how this works or if it will do what you want. I guess some experimenting is in order. Food for thought. Cheers, Harold.
