The SSRT 37411 deserves a new update with the new moulds. But I'd also wish Märklin produced new Swedish cars to pull behind their RC locos. I have an the Swedish passenger cars since they started producing 4377 although I'm missing the alternate version of 4377. They are a little bit boring now and don't fit with newer eras.

Away back in the early 1960s, Tri-ang (the British model company) produced one of their all-time great models, the Class L1 as shown below. These were used by the South Eastern and Chatham Railway prior to 1920. An earlier L class had been delivered and ....... wait for it, half of those machines were manufactured by Borsig in Berlin. The other half of the class were built by Beyer Peacock in Manchester. The delivery of the Borsig locos coincided with the start of WW1 - the SECR, true to their word, paid for the locos when the war was over. Here is the L class in model form. This machine is quite like (except for outside cylinders) the first 3 pictures shown by Marklineisenbahn. It would go well with the HO scale Fleischmann green Southern coaches also made in the 1960s/70s and any other British coaches of a period back into the 1920s. And Märklin might be able to use the mechanism and chassis for a German loco at the same time. One of those shown above or even the DRG class 13 shown here on my layout (Fleischmann model #1113 for AC digital). Kimball

However, unless my eyes deceive me, I am struggling to find locomotives from 1860-1940 that the various Dutch railways have purchased from say England like the 1738. But also this lok build by Beyer Peacock, works number 2101 Class 475 NS 1326 1B with tender would be most desirable, among many others. In 3-rail ac please 🙏 Cor

It would have to be in their Legacy series with the old DCM or FCM motor and chassis. That way it would compliment their NS1100, NS1200, NS1600 and NS1700. No sound or any of that stuff just a basic decoder so it runs nicely in analogue. They could even do it in the original Black BR livery as well as the NS livery but that would probably be asking a bit too much. Sensible price too obviously - after all it would be a very basic loco.
		Marklin HO using M track. Now reverted to analogue as I find it has more character and is more fun...... and I understand it!

Regards, Marklineisenbahn I wouldn't mind some British locos, the quality of what is on the market is not for me and HO instead 00 would be nice. A Merchant class is needed in my collection but an A4 or a Coronation would be welcome too, and passenger coaches. I can see there would be no end to the variations of the Flying Scotsman. I would also like some French or Italian engines that have not been done yet.

Why not in HO too? Fill out the collection in 1:100 and 1:93. I want to see a SBB EWIV AS to complete my SBB Intercities in 1:100. I want to see 1:93 Bm235 and Bvmz185 in Product colours (1980s) to complete my "Tiziano" set. So far, we have seen couchettes of the SBB and SNCB in 1:93. We could use some sleepers of various countries. Should Maerklin bring the SBB and ÖBB EC coaches in 1:93? I would also love to see them bring out a "Nightjet" set. For freight, I would really love to see some Sgnss 60ft cars loaded with 45 foot containers. Most of the other cars are limited to 40ft ones. Maerklin did a few for Holland a decade or so ago (Samskip, Geest, Ferrymasters). It would be nice to have some TRW, AAE and Hupac cars with interesting loads. I would also love to see a model of the new Flirt and KISS trainsets and would prefer to see them from Maerklin rather than from companies that made earlier versions. These trainsets can be found in Switzerland and all over Europe and the world. Regards Mike C

At the same time, I already have an edelweiss so they would need to be an appealing new package. A fantasy for me would be an SBB Ae 4/7, or even an Ae 3/5, but knowing the flop the Ae 3/6 was (for marklin and for Roco), that seems doubtful. Hello John, I know next to nothing about Swiss motive power, but I am intrigued by your post. Two of the Ae 3/6, both in brown (37510 and 37515) were purchased some time ago for reasons unknown. I probably assumed they might take over the Rheingold consist from Basel to Zurich around 1937/8. Anyway could you explain the reasons why these models were a flop please? regards Kimball

Neither sold well, and the models from either brand can be had for as much as a 50% discount at dealers... I think they are both good models, just not a popular prototype.

Maybe a UK style freight loco like 9F Evening Star or a Stainer 8F. A LMS Black Five would be nice to see as well. I think M is missing a bigger market share in the UK and elsewhere not doing more UK stuff. How about a UP DD40ax for the USA market to compliment the Big Boy. That is the diesel that took over for them. Or the Krauss Maffei diesels that ran on the Rio Grand and SP. Those are unique and one is being restored to operation in a museum in the USA, in slightly modified form.

I got a photo of the one with the Br01 at the IMA in 2023. Apparently the trucks belong to a logistics company and are dedicated to moving parts, stock molds and anything else required between the factories in Goppingen and Gyor, and the warehouse in Sonneberg
