Dear all
I had a customer who is using a CS2 for track and analogue for the catenary at the same time. My immediate reaction was that is not quite right, I have not seen it mentioned by Marklin before. However the customer had this combination set up for quite a while without problems.
So I asked Marklin technical was this possible. They replied as long as the grounding is the same, it can be done. They did state that if the B terminal of the CS2 gets put on the line side of the analogue circuit then you would have big problems.
Personally I would not take the risk, just one mistake and you throw the CS out.
I am sure this would be of interest to some.

Hi David This arrangement has been around for quite some time for instance in the powering of grade crossings. In both cases, the common ground to digital and analog allows a safe operation. It allows also to enjoy old analog electric together with more recent digital locos. The only warning: never allow the 16 AC to come in contact with digital.
