Hi forum members. I'm trying to find something I could use to raise an entire loop of track approx. 24 feet by 4 feet. I'm trying to avoid buying Marklin bridge ramps as it would cost a small fortune to buy 48 feet of their ramps. The Marklin pillars seem to only want to snap into the Marklin ramps or bridges, not the track itself. If they did I would just buy a ton of Marklin pillars and be done with it. I want the loop at all the same height as it will be running separate from the rest of my layout. I've seen some really nice pillars that people are making using a printer but I don't have access to one nor know anybody that would make them for me. Anybody have any ideas?
Thanks in advance for any thoughts on this,
Luna

Hi Luna
It seems to me you have multiple possibilities (but none that clips on a C Track but rather on bridges / access ramp like Faller, Viessmann, etc).
The best I can think of is to use a kleat (wood section of 40 mm x 20 mm cut to desired elevation) and cover with paper brick wall sheet screwed on C rails (one screw)
Cheers
Jean

Many have made their own pillars. Some paint them, and others print brick and stone sheets and glue to them. The track looks odd without ramps though, and they slide under it for better rigidity and stability.
I've even seen both fabricated with a 3 D printer.

You are right about the track looking a little strange without supporting ramps, the problem is I don't think anyone makes ramps for R-4 or R-5 curves.

I did this my way to save money & printed "Brick" paper sides to cover the wood pillars:

The oodland Scenics solution are not pillars, but it is a good flexible solution to elevate track:

Woodland Scenics Incline/Decline
