Hi gang Cool

I'd like to know where I can buy a helix kit for R2/R3 double track.

There are quite a few manufacturers in Germany but I can't find them on the web here in Canada.

Can you help me ?

Thank you in advance. It will be much appreciated

I made mine from simple curved plywood pieces and treaded 6mm(1/4 inch) bars/washers and nuts… but possibly a set is easier…

Thanks for the reply...which doesn't help me much `: I don't have a workshop or garage to do any woodwork of this kind.

I'll already have to use my imagination to build my wooden frame in an 8' x 4' storage unit.

I'm sorry, but replies like "It's not complicated to make it yourself", etc., etc., etc. .... will not be commented on.

I don't have a workshop !!!!!

It may be worth hunting around the local woodworking shops to see if there is one with a CNC router or laser cutter. I'm sure that if you gave them the dimensions of the track circle, and explained what you want (especially with a photo of an example) they could work out the dimensions and cut them for you. They may also be able to source the threaded rod for supports, or at least tell you where it could be purchased.

Thinking about it a bit more, Noch make helix kits, if nothing else pictures from there will illustrate what you want to local woodworkers.

Hmm, seems they are not keen on their product, no pictures of anything, at least on the helix section.

I'd like to at least visualise the product in my mind before purchasing.

How about this from Heimworker, or Alexander which is his real name? I purchased helixes from him in 2017, and he seems to still be in business. You can correspond with him in English. (Note, I’m not affiliated with Alexander, I’m just a pretty happy customer.)

Hi Pefu thank youCool

But there's a big problem: shipping from Europe to Canada seems to be causing problems for many people in Europe.Angry

Ditto to the UK. Either won't do it or it's prohibitively expensive.

As far as you, the UK, are concerned, it's probably been since you left the European Union.

And as far as Canada is concerned, the European Union considers Canada to be part of the USA, and it's back to Trump's "USA first" message.

Europeans, Canada is not the USA, so get that through your head!

When I think that for many French and Belgian people, Canada is still full of teepees... it's ridiculous!

How would you know it’s a big problem, before asking him?

Ah Pefu RollEyes Cool

Because 1- the one you referred doesn't ship to Canada (it says so in their terms of delivery) but I read it in a hurry I must admit
2- all the companies I consulted on the web don't ship to Canada
3- because you seem to forget that I'm European by origin and that I still have a lot of contacts in my native country, who confirm that the number of small companies exporting to Canada is plummeting and that this is due to a deliberate EU policy .... which, let's not forget, is one of the reasons why I left my native country.

To back up what I'm saying, please read the comment by member from the UK

In any case, if I don't manage to import on my own, I still have the option of going through my son who still lives in my native country....but it's longer and a bit more expensive, but I've already done it several times.

To get back to this famous helix, I think I've found the solution: adapt the helix I have.

Have a nice day
