Hello, hope all is well.

Just wanted to share my recent acquisition. This is a 3D printed model of the VT 55 tower wagon. (The yellow railbus)

UserPostedImage

This item was sold by Noba-Modelle as a finish model equipped with a coreless motor ready to run. I was very surprised at the quality of 3D printing now as the material is smooth and highly detailed. It is nicely painted, has DB decals and the cage on the roof moves from side to side. If you are good at this, it could be purchased unfinished. The website is https://www.noba-modelle.de and I contacted them before ordering to make certain they would ship to me. The shipping was steep however, but it is like this everywhere. The panto had to be painted and added.

I consider this an odd specialized Railbus which is not otherwise available and a great add.

Take good care.

Dwight

Hello, hope all is well.

No this is not a shorty. It might be a better performer. This one is a bit lighter but has some weight added to each end of the frame. There is only one drive wheel. The shell might fit onto a Marklin frame, but I have not tried this.

Also, I failed to mention there are no lights on this. Also, that reel wagon load is a very old Shapeway item.

Take good care.

Just scored two old track cleaning railbusses.
Already had a red railbus but really don't like it as a train. Gonna put together some kind of cleaning train. Is already way to long on my mind :)

Hello, hope all is well.

I have seen YouTube videos which include up to 6 red railbuses in a string, but not more.

One thing about the railbus, it is relatively lite weight and has only two drive wheels. One trailer and a railbus on a hill is about all they can pull, unless another with a motor is added. I don’t know if there is a limit to the number of motorized units which could be added to a string.

A cleaner railbus adds a bit of color to the mix, but are often just found operating alone which might be true with the VT 55.

Take good care. Some may disagree, but we can create our own rules if we want to, we are in charge of our layouts

Yes. I ment by adding one or two cars.
Could add a felt cleaning car.

Or swap out the normal drive mechanism of the red railbus in the shell of the cleaning one.
With some tinkering one could use the one extra car as power pickup!
