Hi Everyone
My first post so let’s see how this goes.
Have recently started collecting early Marklin M track, back as far as mid 50s, and coaches up to era 4. Have already got quite a bit with the view to building a large Marklin / Faller layout. Have had help from European sellers with many questions but hears one for the forum. The couplers on the early 4707 have long pointed ends required for centering. Does anyone know if these are available anywhere. I’ve run out of search ideas.

It's fantastic to hear about your Marklin M track collection! Delving into vintage pieces from the mid-50s and expanding your layout with era 4 coaches must be incredibly rewarding. It's great that you've found helpful European sellers, but tracking down those specific couplers can indeed be challenging. For the early 4707 with long pointed ends, I'd suggest checking specialized vintage train forums or contacting collectors' groups. Sometimes, older parts surface in auctions or niche hobby shops that specialize in model trains. Good luck with your search, and your layout sounds like it's going to be amazing!

Thank you for your reply and kind words of encouragement. I think I have come a long way in the short time since my post. As far as those couplers, I have found a few options with the best of them being, using NEM adapters and then being able to plug in the regular, of powered, Marklin couplers. There is a small problem with the thickness of the NEM adapter but I’ve found a very small, 2mm I think, washer pressed on with the adapter helps firm everything up.
There have been many other issues since and I’m sure there’ll be more to come. Getting some items out of Germany to New Zealand when the seller won’t post is a regular one but that’s what happens when you live down under. The collection has grown to over 70 locomotives and their associated coaches with more to come. Most importantly, I’m having a lot of fun preparing for my retirement years. I enjoy reading all the advice on this forum from people far more knowledgeable than myself.

Hello Bruce, For car 4707 do you mean the SNCF coil car? According to Koll's catalog this car has the standard NEM coupler pockets. the Relex coupler is available from the official Märklin shop, nr. 72060, mind you, they only sell these as a box with a total of 50 couplers https://www.maerklinshop...ous/51456/relex-couplersYour dealer should be able to order these for you and sell you just a package (I did this in the past) Below on this shop page you also see short couplers for sale https://www.maerklinshop...d-coupler-pockets-50-pc.Tip from Tony, in case you are looking for spareparts, don't look at the Märklin website but in the Märklin Shop website, I have often experienced that the M site didn't give any results but I found the required parts in the official shop website. https://www.maerklinshop.de/en/ Just use the search field. Hi Tony Thanks for your post. Thinking back on , I’m not sure why 4707 is mentioned there because I’m  sure, at the time, I had purchased my first 4074 car carrier and that was the first occasion I had come across those odd looking couplers. Must make sure I get my numbers right. I’m a pilot by profession so that could be embarrassing. Thanks for your other information. Take care.

Thanks so much for your post and the part information. I’ve ordered a packet and look forward to seeing what they are like. There was no picture of the part on the web page. Shipping is more than the parts but this has become something that I have to live with. Again, thanks for your help.
