Here is the little I know
- you can't use a 72730 to operate a turnout. The 72730 is meant to cut power to side lines, lightings etc
- Using 72710 to operate your turnouts alone (in a conventional way) is standard operation recommended by Märklin
- Using 72710 to operate your turnouts in parallel with digital decoders 74461(in a digital way) is non standard operation not recommended by Märklin
- Using your MS2 to operate your turnouts alone with a digital decoders 74461 (in a digital way) is standard operation recommended by Märklin

So, shortly either a turnout is digital (commanded by the MS2) or analog commanded by a 72710 and 16 VAC power.

Cheers
Jean

Hello gladop,

I am not sure if this helps, because I do not have digital control of tunouts.
But this article appeared in the 04.2022 issue of Märklin Magazine.
It explains 3 way of control.
(please ignore my pencil notes)

Kimball
HO Scale - Märklin (ep II-III and VI, C Track, digital) - 2 rail HO (Queensland Australia, UK, USA) - 3 rail OO (English Hornby Dublo) - old clockwork O gauge - Live Steam 90mm (3.1/2 inch) gauge.
