Hi Guys,

Just trying to clarify a couple of things. Did the BLS bahn ever run the EW2 passenger cars in green, the same as the SBB?

I have an opportunity to purchase a few items while in Austria and I’d like to buy the correct units. In the past I was told that the BLS did not run the ew2, only the shorter ew1.

Can anyone clarify for me?

Cheers….

Mike

Bought these today. First two are Roco 4239 and 4238b respectively. Last one is Hag 463

BLS never owned any EWII until they purchased a few EWIIAB from SBB. RM (EBT) had one EWII B and one or two EWIIB with baggage compartment for local trains. Those coaches did not see much operation after RM was acquired by BLS

Roco made BLS versions of their EWII models because Roco did not have a model of the EWI

Thanks for the reply Mike.

The bls Roco in the picture is the same length as the hag unit so I assumed it was ew1. I had an option on three green BLS coaches from Roco, however they were noticeably longer which made me suspect they were EW2 tooling painted in BLS colours.

Was I correct in my thinking?

Cheers….

Also, the Roco items I did buy appear to be the same length as the Hag (which I assumed would be correct) I have now noticed a difference in the toilet window size/shape, with the Roco appearing more consistent with ew2 (but without the increased length.

Have a stuffed up buying the Roco units?

Cheers….

Mike

I’m in Vienna and went to a shop in…… I can find it but can’t remember the name, it has no website.

I’m not planning a stop in Perth so I may be of limited value as a courier!
