I'm constantly receiving emails and magazines from Marklin informing me of new products to be released, however, none of them are available to buy.

What is happening in Goeppingen ? Don't the various departments communicate with each other ? Does anyone know ?
Take it easy . . . . or any other way you can get it !!!!

When you say 'none of them available to buy' are you saying you cannot back-order them, or are they sold out?

Most items require you to pre-order them and when they are produced will then be delivered to you. This does make for a rather indeterminate delivery time, but is the world of 'just in time' manufacturing that is prevalent these days. manufacturing is done to quantities ordered from shops, and there is minimal, if any, over production that sits in stock.

The word "be" in to be released is important here. Also it's not just what happens in Goeppingen but about what happens in China and other countries and in the shipping business.

It's frustrating to see dealers advertising products being released for sale in Q1, Q2, Q3 etc when these deadlines are usually not kept (saves us a bit of money of course).

Another thing is the competition between producers. They are afraid to lose sales if they don't advertise new and upcoming products as soon as possible.

It doesn't need to be between producers, it is more a case of keeping the catalogue and order books full I suspect.

i Think Marklin release dates end to be very close to the original in most cases.
I have waited 3 years for the Brawa Rheingold express since preordered, 4 years now for a Gutzold locomotive, a year for a D&H sound decoder, same with Jaegerndorfer and so on....
With Marklin and Piko dates are far more predictable

UserPostedImage German trains era I-II and selected III, era depends on the mood, mostly Maerklin but i can be heretic if needed XD, heresy is no longer an issue.. LOL
