Thanks so much!
In 2022 I am outsider and I got the BR06 for asking a shop if they new some insider member that didn't want the BR06.
In 2023 I will be insider (already subscribed) and I will only decide if I buy the BR 01.10 after see the new items for 2023.

Thanks for the pointer and pics.
I had to smile to myself about the "sound quality" discussion about sounds no-one has heard yet.

Not interested myself, but do like they are modernizing the BR 01 line and moving through it... I'm waiting for a modern updated BR 012 with the oil tender some point down the road.

The BR 012 requires a different boiler. I also hope they make both boilers for the new frame. Time will tell.

To be sure...same sound files like other BR 01.

BR 01 is a two-cylinder loco, BR 01.10 is a three-cylinder loco.
It's only speculation if Märklin will re-use a three-cylinder sound project or if they come with new recordings.
There are no operational BR 01.10 with the old boiler anyway, so there is no way to record the "correct sound".
Regards
Tom

I like the colors of the test locomotive! It has some similarities with the Duchess of Hamilton :-)

Just a heads up but the Insider 01.10 has begun delivery, users over at Stummi forum have reported on it:
https://www.stummiforum....eliefert.html#msg2574665

Hey...
I was at Youtube and did watch Märklins new Insider model 2023.
There are some cons and it seems okey to play with it anyway.
However this model is nothing for me.

Hello Tom,
I was having a discussion the other day with a guy who is knowledgeable about working steam locomotive in New South Wales.
I was referring to a video taken a few weeks ago of double headed locomotives of different classes (both 2 cylinder), and noticed two very different exhaust sounds.
He says that the different sounds primarily are the result of having different valve gear, one was Stephensons link motion, and the other with Southern (probably) valve gear.
Of course other working settings such as position of reversing gear, and other design features such as design of blast pipe and smoke box will also create different sounds.
So it is always a bonus for modellers if an authentic sound can be used by a manufacturer.
Mind you I am rather cynical when it comes to believing the sounds from a HO scale model are anything more than only a hint of what really happens.
Kimball
HO Scale - Märklin (ep II-III and VI, C Track, digital) - 2 rail HO (Queensland Australia, UK, USA) - 3 rail OO (English Hornby Dublo) - old clockwork O gauge - Live Steam 90mm (3.1/2 inch) gauge.

I watch youtube about two front lamps do not matching the real BR01.10. I think stummi forum not happy about it.
Turn to 4.00 and 4.45 change the correct lamp - Sorry German text

Why didn´t Märklin add function decoder to turn the lighting on/off too?

Probably to keep the price down.......
And this way the users can choose what they want:
1. they can keep it the way it is
2. they can install an mld3/msd3 or any other decoder they want, provided there is space for it. (the mld3/msd3 can be configured to act as function decoders only, using motor wires as extra aux outputs)
3. or control it from a locomotive that has that function, just remove the slider and wire up the "front" coupler in the baggage car and install a current conducting coupler.
(I noticed that the "front" coupler on the
42529
baggage car has the "brass" plate and the contact for the coupler shaft installed, but it's not wired up)
