Hello, and thanks for the add to your group.
I own two (2) of the 8800 locomotive-style engines, purchased in Munich back in Dec. '74, then 2nd one in Feb. '76.
Looking to have them cleaned/inspected as well as brushes replaced, and want to send to a good, reputable repair shop.
Any ideas?
Took them out of storage last Christmas, and without much cleaning had them both working during the Holidays. One was a bit spotty.
Any suggestions or business recommendations appreciated, thank you in advance.

I'm not a Z svaler, but those have the old motors. It may be worth it to upgrade to the newer, better ones. Oil solidifies on Z scale Locos. more quickly due to the size. A good cleaning, removing all old oil/grease, and relubing sparingly. Current contacts need cleaning as well, some may need replaing if brass or copper has corroded badly.

All my locos are 3 pole, nothing wrong with them, except a few I have flogged to death.
