Good morning/afternoon.
I recently purchased the Markin 37997 Big Boy and when running it for the first time, I noticed that the X4014 number board was missing from on top of the front of the boiler. I searched the Marklin parts site but did not see that as a part to purchase. Does anyone know where I can get a replacement? It is only the little black lens with X4014 on it.
Thank you so much.

I would get in touch with Maerklin and see what they can do. Was it purchased from a dealer (new) or second hand/website?

Hello Had exactly the same problem, it is not listed as spare part indeed, could also not get it through a dealer and the response from Marklin service was that i had to send the loco back to them for repairs....... So, i have searched for a set of H0 decals for the UP 4014 on ebay.com and then without taking the decals out i just cut out the x4014 sign and it fitted perfectly on the space in the holder and also looked perfectly with light on Will make a picture in the afternoon Item number on ebay.com is 202631635603 Regards |
German trains era I-II and selected III, era depends on the mood, mostly Maerklin but i can be heretic if needed XD, heresy is no longer an issue.. LOL |

Mike, Thank you for replying. I purchased it from a collector for a very fair price...I would have still purchased it even if I had noticed the number board missing. It was my fault for not inspecting the train better. I did email Marklin a few days ago and am waiting for a response. Picture as promised, you can see a blueish haze on the decal sign, more evidente with lights on, due to the cardboard base of the decal. It is ok with me, but it can be fixed aplying the decal on a white plastic base or changing both signs. Regards |
