Hi all,

I found at my parents house a HO 2900 set with power supply that have 3 ports (brown and red terminals and another unknown). It worked great.
BUT... then I found additional parts: 5202, 5112 and 7039, each one have 3 wires (yellow, blue and red or yellow and double blue), and I have no idea where to connect them. I feel like I missing another part, a transformer of some kind. Any idea what?
Thanks!

Hello Sovi, welcome! the brown wires are the common or ground wires to tracks and, or transformer. Red is the positive power feed, and yellow for lighting of signals, or Turnout lanterns. The blue is for solenoids on turnout mechansims and signal semiphore arms. The blue wires connect to a switch box, if an analog system is being used, or to a digital decoder if otherwise. The set shoiuld have came with a general Marklin wiring system manual, but it is also online.
The track ground (outer rails is used to connect signals and turnouts. Center tarck studs for red wire.

Hi Sovi
Here is something that could help you with the analogue Märklin world
CatMarklin-Signaux_modeles 342 (1961).pdf (15,178kb) downloaded 30 time(s).

The 2900 set include a 10 VA transformer and it is the bare minimum
OK to power a loco with a small motor 3034, 3037, 3000, 3001, 3002, 3003
OK to move a switch

It may become problematic when it comes to more locos, more lighted signal etc. (each lamp is 1 VA)
You may find a 30VA transformer with grey, platic case (ideal).
There are also older Märklin transfos (Blue metal case) that are OK for ANALOGUE operation but that may destroy future Märklin digital locos. So better avoid this unless you never purchase a digital, delta or recent Märklin loco (they are ALL digital-capable).

I hope this helps
Jean

In addition to what Jean posted, your set would have originally come with a booklet similar to the "Connecting Model Railways" (link towards the bottom of this post).

That should get you most of the way to having your set and accessories working.
