Hi, does anyone have any insight on the clearance for the ICE 4? On the Marklin website, they state that the minimum radius for use is R2 curves (437.5mm), however, in the manual it is stated that the minimum radius for operation is R1 curves (360mm).

I assume there is a degree to which the cars stick out over the track. I have some catenary already set up on my layout. Does anyone have a measurement (in mm) of how much the cars stick out over the track or if there has been any problem with catenary masts on R1 C track?

Regards Nick

Hello Nick,

For the overhang on any train or engine it is very problematic to test all the scenarios presented by another layout.
I do have the 39714 and have no problem with it.
On my layout the C track with Märklin catenary is R3, R4 and R5.

There is some catenary on R1 and R2 at the entrance to my electric loco shed.
Next time I get the set out to run I will see if I can test it there.

HO Scale - Märklin (ep II-III and VI, C Track, digital) - 2 rail HO (Queensland Australia, UK, USA) - 3 rail OO (English Hornby Dublo) - old clockwork O gauge - Live Steam 90mm (3.1/2 inch) gauge.

That would be great if you get a chance. Thanks Kimball!
