I have a number of Faller 670 lamps without bulbs for various reasons. Although I did some digging on the web (here, and generally), I couldn't find the answer for what type of replacement bulb(s) to use. There are plenty of lamps with bulbs available, but I just want the bulbs. My working 670s have at least three different bulbs installed, so I'm assuming the threaded bulb base is the critical dimension. That, plus working voltage of course. Anyone in this esteemed group know the standard bulb type for these lamps? Thanks in advance.

Regards,

- MR

Hi MR

Faller lamps used in Article 670 are simple 16 V lamps with a 5.5 mm thread
In Europe it is called E5.5 Lamps
Here they are on ebay.de https://www.ebay.de/itm/39228388...cYL%7Ctkp%3ABFBMwODCuv9f
Unless I am mistaken they are easy to find anywhere.
They may come on 2 different lamp sizes: small more current now and large as used to be produced in the 1950's
Like here: https://www.ebay.de/itm/16428693...3ad75:g:FS0AAOSw3blfCtwc

My opinion: I get rid of all lamps and replace them with LEDs equivalent.
The other current type used by Märklin is the 60000 type with an MS4 socket to be also found on ebay Germany.

Cheers
Jean

I think you will find it is the same bulb as the screw in marklin headlight bulbs used in the 60's. I don't have the Marklin part number immediately handy sorry, can get tomorrow if no-one else has it first.
