I have just converted two old locomotives to Digital.
One 3000 and the other the old 3048.

The decoder are named mLD3 on the 3000 model. Changed the motor to 5 pole as well.
I followed the wiring diagram using the black wire to ground. Blue and green to motor and red to pickup Front lights are LED and feeder is grey.
Placing the loc on the rails and finding it went well. Configering too but when updating the loc I got faults on both locs.

It says: "''Connecting to the decoders Bootloader failed." MY CS3 is updated but no way it cannot address the Booloader. The version on the Bootloader is 6.0.1.0 on
the 3000 model. Decoder is 60982.

The 3048 was a bit tricky fitting a new motor but got it fitted all right after modifying the upper part a little. No big deal but took a little time.
Here the Bootloader version is 5.0.0.0 if I recall correct

Safe driving

Gunnar

Hi Gunnar
I think there is a mistake in motor connection (should be gray and orange on a 60982 decoder (mLD3 Kabekbaum - cable tree)
See below the color codes you must use.

Also before using the decoder, you need the set the motor type
Read carefully pages 26 and 27 about motor types and self calibration

If you have a CS3, reset the decoder in case it refuses to work

note: the 3048 needs a special motor so no wonder you had to fight a little
Cheers
Jean
