I am having problems with track alignment (M track). Some of the rails are either too high or don't align well side-to-side causing derailments. I am using both new and used M track and the base heights may be slightly different, depending on when the track was manufactured. My track may bridge a 40 year span. Since the rail is hollow, I can't file or pound the rail to align. What is the best way to solve this?

M track is forgiving, and bends a bit. Play with it, and it will line up. Make sure the joiners are stright, then line up the center stud tabs.
