New to model railroading and have come across the term "HAMO" a number of times but have not been able to figure out what exactly it is. Could someone give me an explanation please?

Hammo was later all Marklin for d.c. 2 rail. After they aquired Trix, the Hammo name was retired.

In the mid 60's HAMO did limited runs of Märklin items that were not available in the current line. I had a 3023 E18 from 1965 that was 3 rail AC. The box was identical to the light blue boxes that Märklin was using at that time but the lettering was HAMO.

All true , I have the very same loco and “Hamo” box you describe
