Hi All

I am thinking of getting the Lilput 133982 SBB Flirt model

L133999.jpg

I have tried everywhere to find the length of the model, to no avail.

Please can somebody tell me the length and confirm it will work with my CS3.

Thanks

Tim

Indeed they are good looking. I had one for about a month when the original version first came out. I had to send it back because the lights in the trailer cars didn't work. They couldn't fix it and were sold out sso the couldn't replace it. I got a refund. I would rather have the car set.

Makes me wonder about their serviceability?!

I have the original (Basel S-Bahn) and the Zuger S-Bahn version. Right from the start, I failed to understand why they did not package the model so that the modeller only had to deal with assembling two sections instead of three. The box would have been a little longer, but the frustration would surely have been a little less.

Ideally, with the way that the connections are designed, these models should remain on the track or in a display, as they are not designed to be played with and put back in the box.
Compared to, say, the Maerklin/Trix TGV, the connection design is overly complex. My recommendation would have be to go to a design with a single fixation screw or better yet, find a solution with none at all. With the open space within the connecting piece, it would not have been complicated to have a 8-pin socket and cable (same as on decoders) and then a single screw or clip to hold the sections together.

The initial model had some issues with light bleeding through the white shell. This was corrected on the Zuger S-Bahn model.
The other thing that I would have liked to see was the destination signs be independent of the rest of the lighting. This way, you could imitate the way that they frequently are flashing rather than staying on.

As far as service, I managed to find some Flirt parts (Pantograph, etc) that I needed on eBay.
If you need service, first contact should be Arwico (CH) followed by Liliput (Germany)

Thanks. Now we can all "see" which version he "has"

Looks nice. I think that's the one with one wide (DB) and one narrow (SBB) pantograph.

Hi All

In Conclusion :-

I ordered my Liliput FLIRT from Suter Meggen as they had the best price. They responded to two queries by email in under 20 mins. I ordered yesterday at lunch and have just received it before 9:00 am.

So I was very impressed by speed and service.BigGrin BigGrin

I now have to do a days work before I can put it on the layout.Angry

Mike yes you are correct. One wide (DB) and one narrow (SBB) pantograph. I also changed the ESU decoder which was a lokpilot & fitted an ESU MFX V3.0 sound decoder. It was a plug & play scenario. Very happy with this version.

Hi All

I have a few questions :_

I have now opened the box and read through the instructions. I have discovered the 4 dip switches, I think this is correct:-

S1 = B
S2 = A
S3 = A
S4 = A

How do I install it on my CS3.
Will the CS3 identify it automatically and assign a number, or does it automatically come with a number ?
What is the number ?
Can I change this number?

Tim

I very much like this model too. I may get one. I don't know about the dip switch settings but some Piko models have them also. Try looking online for the user guide for the decoder. ESU has them for the CS for most models. I think if not an mfx decoder you must manually enter it, but only once. The CS3 tutorial explains how. You assign address, class, road name, photo icon, etc.

if it has a factory assigned address, you can either enter that, or change it. You must do this on the programming track with no other model on it.

I must confess I think the FLIRT is a good looking model and a worthy possible addition, but the question I would like to ask the people who have owned the Liliput 133982 is would you recommend buying it or would you recommend I spend my money elsewhere?
Don't look back, your not heading that way.

[Hi Glen

I bought the model and am very pleased with it, It was a little tricky to assemble (pay attention to the order of coaches etc) but
once assembled it runs well and looks good.
