I recently acquired a Märklin 3011 E44 Electric loco. I'm looking for the part number for the screw that attaches the frame to the body casting. I have checked the parts diagram for the original issues as well as the more recent Primex reissue of this loco and for some strange reason this is the only screw that is not shown.

Thanks for any help provided.

Chuck

Hi Chuck

You may look to the exploded view diagram of the 30110 (3011 replica) here:
https://www.maerklin.de/de/produkte/details/article/30110#
Click on "Ersatzteilliste"
Alas the screw reference is not indicated.
On my 1956 3011 (SET800) loco, the body is attached by 2 screws underneath located at center just behind the buffers
Here is a picture of my 3011 once the front wheel is removed.
You may see the screw you are looking for
3011 Gehause.png (10,937kb) downloaded 26 time(s).
This is a metric screw 2 mm diameter, 6 mm long
It was listed as 78509 (Märklinshop) also WN 55024 (5 mm long) by Märklin in 1955
I hope this helps
Jean

A really good hardware store will have a display with an assortment of screws including metric. Unless you are fussy about getting the exact Marklin replacement this should be a lot cheaper and more readily available.

Hi
I have found the way to turn steel black.
Just in case you are a purist (no disrespect at all. I am one)

Cheers
Jean
