Are #5100 rails and #3600 rails - compatiblity of these rails

Can I use the later rail sections with my older track? Paul The major difference is the 3600 series track has solid center rail while the 5100 has center studs. You may need to tweak the ends of the center rail down slightly with a pair of pliers so the pick up shoe doesn't catch on it when transitioning between the two types.
