Can someone explain how this can be called retro model with plastic made boggi Confused

UserPostedImage

This type of products should be a subject to extra environmental tax so we don't need to see it any more....

They have also managed to misspell on the wagons LOL

Real rubbish Cursing

Without a reference number your post really has little value.
Which model are you talking about?

Plastic has a long tradition with Märklin. So even "retro" models may have plastic parts.

When did you se this detailed bogi on retro wagon?

Let's us do some money "plastic is fantastic" and it looks like shit but we give them a certificate Huh

It also seems that Märklin makes the model for its own interest without involving the BJ Railway Club...

The German retro tin-plate coaches had plastic around the metal trucks - like the tin-plate models in the last century had.

Are these Märklin 4192 coaches painted brown? If so they will have the same trucks as the DB retro tin-plate coaches. Yes, plastic. And it needs the plastic look of the past to be a real retro model.

That boggi is a new construction and doesn't look like the retro one!

Hi
I think Märklin started using plastic bogie cheeks from approx 1954 so a good 64 years ago so it could be called retro.
Before those cheeks (Fahrgestellwangen) were made of zamak.
Before that (late 1930s) the entire bogie was made of cast metal (poor quality precursor of Zamak)
So indeed this Swedish cars can be called retro with the restriction that in the 1960s the body and decoration used were very different.
Cheers
Jean

Hi Jonas
I am sorry I have to disagree
The car you show appeared first in 1961 with Minden Deutz bogies. See here the page bottom.
1961MindenDeutz.jpg.
But I agree it looks funny because there were many early boggie types like Görlitz https://www.wikiwand.com/de/Dreh...tell_Bauart_G%C3%B6rlitz but no by Märklin at the time.
Cheers
Jean

They must have had very good technology then, because if you got all these sharp details, I wonder why they didn't do more of the remaining wagon at that time...

I would say two completely different designs and Märklin is playing with parts.

The bogie is original style/retro. The misspelling is not ok though, I don't speak swedish- what did they do wrong?

Märklin has written with the spelling used by BJS, owner of the train used as inspiration by Märklin.

Salongvagn was used along Salongsvagn in Sweden , so both spellings are authentic.
