Hello everyone, i recently bought a locomotive and wagon set. I run trains with a Mobile Station 2.

I noticed that when I run this new locomotive alone its all good, but when I add the passenger wagon set ( which include led lights inside ) after a while and above 50% of speed the MS2 STOPs.

I read some other articles about the MS2 stopping by itself. However with some trouble shooting I was able to come to the conclusion that:

-its not a short circuit ( also because there is not the usual high pitch short circuit sound when it happens ).

-Also the MAIN amps stay always between 0.2 and 0.4.

-This does not happen at specific points on the layout.

- loco alone OK, loco + wagon set NOT OK, ANOTHER loco + same wagon set OK.

So this is kind of strange because there is no short circuit, main amps limit is never reached and only happens when they run together.

Anyone has any idea of why?

Hmm, is the coach coupled to the loco using a conducting coupling? If so change it for a standard coupling. It could be that the other loco you tried has a plastic coupling while this crocodile has a metal coupling, which at some point causes a short, but not always.

It only happens above 50% Speed.

The issue also happens if I leave the wagons stationary on the layout and run the loco alone. But as soon as I remove the wagons the MS2 does not stops anymore.

Sorry, but why shall it be the MS 2? You remove the 43385 coaches

https://www.maerklin.de/...e/details/article/43385/

and not the MS 2 or your loco for a perfect function. Logically the reason for this behaviour must be the cars and not the MS 2. Even in the manual for these cars Maerklin is warning for the danger of a short circuit.

Hi
It is possible that the loco you just bought is needing too much current at times (if a winding in the rotor has burnt) so depending on the rotor location the current will vary.
Cheers

I think you overload system. You know yourself that power feeder is only about 1,9 amps/ 36 watts?

The instruction manual states that the coupler's on the front and rear of the train must be replaced with non conducting coupler's
