Hey,

Today I found my minitrix V100 digital loco (minitrix 12152) which was on it's box for years without running. It has like almost 2 runs on it's back. When I tried to run it on my layout today, it didn't move. There is only a sound similar to when you accelerate barely enough to gain speed and doesn't change if I accelarate more. Lights and change direction mode seems to be working pretty good , so I guess it's something from the motor maybe? or there is not any good contact? Blushing

Thanks for your time

Hi
I can see 2 actions:
- check that the motor and its gears are not stuck: open the loco and access the motor, then gently try to rotate it. If there is resistance, remove the motor nd check where the sticking point is.
- clean the rails and the loco wheels with contact fluid or similar
Cheers
Jean

I opened the loco , motor seems okay with the correct lubrication and spins really good - didn't face any resistance at all.
Then I put the loco on my layout without the body but I can't see the motor spinning. Even if I push the loco gently with my hands nothing changed. Blushing

I found out that the problem isn't the motor (stuck etc) but there isn't any contact with the gears underneath. I really don't know why because the motor can't be more inside the body.

You can check to see if any of the plastic gears have split or broken apart. There were a few Minitrix models that commonly had this problem a 5-10 years ago. My V80s were the worst for me.
