I have a Marklin HO lay-out with 3 main tracks each supported by a trafo and booster (6001/6015). Additional, I have 4 Keyboards (6040) controlling 14 digital decoders k83 (6083). I have split the 14 digital decoders in 2 sets of seven each supported by a trafo and booster (6001/6015). The first 7 digital decoders works fine however the other 7 digital decoders does not respond? I have checked if they receive power from the booster and they do - 17+VAC and the address settings are dbl checked - all turnouts and crossovers are lit up too. Does the digital decoders have to be wired in any order to work properly?
I appreciate any input that will resolve my issue.
Crying
Thank you in advance.

Have you set the address on the back of the keyboard correctly? There are four dip switches on each keyboard and they need to be set for the keyboard in question to send commands to the relevant decoders.

Yes, I have checked the Keyboards dip switches - all good. Now, not really sure if the sequence of connecting/distributing the digital decoders could be the problem? I do not go 1 through 7 (of the k83's) utilizing Keyboard 1 & 2 but jump to Keyboard 3 with 1 k83 and then return to Keyboard 2, 3 & 4 with the rest of the 7 k83's?

Good point, even though I use Red & Brown wires to avoid any mix up and always try to dbl check my wiring, I could certainly have missed one. I'll check and get back!

Just checked the wiring - all reds go to red and all browns go to brown, including all the way down to the boosters??

I presume you mean the order in which you have wired the decoders to their respective booster? If that is the case, then it should not matter as long as they are all connected to the digital signal.

Just to be 100% sure you could try driving those k83s from another her one of your boosters. That way you can check that you have both the voltage and the digital signal getting to them?

Cheers.....

I have tried to connect to another booster but with the same results. I have dbl checked that red goes to red and brown goes to brown on all connections. I have tested my flat cables running between the boosters/control unit. Still the same.
Now, I tried to wire all my k83's in series connected to one booster and that solved the problem. Doesn't that indicate that the sequence of the k83's matters or do I miss something?
Thanks

I wouldn't have thought so. When you tried another booster, was the booster that normally drives (or doesn't drive in this case) the relevant k83's still connected? And will that booster drive other sets of k83's satisfactorily?

Perhaps you could explain again how the k83's were wired, and maybe a diagram. I may be misunderstanding something in how you had it set up.
