I think it is.

Length of the 7 car original is 130.7 m according to Wikipedia.
Length of the 37605 set in H0 is 88 cm, length of the extension set is 62.9 cm.
That makes 150.9 cm in H0, which is 131.3 m in reality.

Best regards,
Gregor

If you call up Maerklin's entries in its database, e.g.

https://www.maerklin.de/...s/details/article/37605/

of their products (be aware the database started 2001 and does not contain all articles inside), then you see at the rigth side:

"Most Important Facts".

The first position showing the article number, at the second place you find the gauge and design type. In your case it is H0 / 1:87.

If you scroll down, a section "Features" appears telling you more about the main features included in this model, like type of decoder, motor, etc.

Hope it helps.

Very funny.
The design type is always 1:87 for models listed as "H0", even for items that are 1:80 all in all or that are 1:110 in length.

Cool stuff ...

I'm hooked on this set, I was lucky enough to acquire one from our dear member Horizon John recently. I guess difference is due to the fact to make the set fit for r1 curves. That's just fine with me.

Thanks for the info.

C.

Gregor's calculation confirms VT11.5 is true to 1:87 scale, not some truncated 1:93.5 or 1:100 models to fit R1 curves.

It is interesting to note the VT11.5 standard 4 car set is 88cm at true scale length, compared to 113cm true scale length for SBB RAm TEE.

I have the 37605. It is an impressive model. I paid a lot when it was released and if I had bought it later had saved a lot....
Only things I don't like so much is there is no interior lights in the end cars and the sound doesn't fit my taste also (now there are better sounds).
The newer ones like 37607 seem to be even better.

I guess the quality of the Insider 2020 will be even better, so I ordered it.
Best regards,
Miguel

I paid a premium when it was released. Like you I could have saved a lot had I bought it later. While later versions have more sound functions, I believe only 37605 has ball bearings.

I forgot to mention the original scale of the product is very often listed in the feature (Merkmale) section.

e.g.:

https://www.maerklin.de/...s/details/article/39706/

https://www.maerklin.de/...e/details/article/41275/

But the TEE RAm (39700 18 years ago) had only a total length of 93,5 cm, a scale of about 1:95.Smile (as of Wikipedia: in reality the total length of the TEE RAm was 98,06 m).

Bla, bla, bla, bla... Here we go again.
Lots of unecessary information after Gregor already nailed it with his EXCELLENT answer.

The question is good, because we all know how Märklin (and other suppliers) like to call everything "H0 scale".
To such an extend that the suppliers now have to extend their information a lot, when their products really ARE true to scale.
I too still doubt some of the technical specifications from the suppliers...
