I am about to incorporate Kato's Duwag Street tram system into my layout and are wanting to know if any members have installed DCC decoders into them?. I am after a recommendation to which decoder I should purchase, given the small space restraint's inside these models. I've tried to google the internet for info which hasn't really helped unfortunately, and the instruction sheet only mentions "a suitable DCC decoder" without naming any. Any advice from street car experts would be very useful.
Merry Christmas to all..!

is this N-scale?
Do you have a picture ?
Start by measuring the available space accurately
In any case, this should most probably do the trick .
Maximum motor current is 0.75 amp which should be plenty

I have also used Zimo quite successfully, and the MX621 sould be able to handle it too ( I have even used it in some KATO Us style HO engines...)

Good luck

Attached is a Picture of the Kato Street car. It is a HO scale model number K30930. Ideally I would like to add a suitable DCC decoder that will support "marker lights" along with internal lighting effects.image Kato Street Car 30930.jpg

Yeah, like jaques I would look at the Lokpilot micro decoders. If you want sound it will need to be the Loksound 5 micro.

Thanks you for your feedback. Your recommendation looks like a prefect solution. A order will be placed on Monday...!

Have you checked under the vehicle, as the N gauge multiple units mostly have a detachable “battery box/AC gear” between the bogies that reveals easy access to a socket for a specific Kato clip in decoder, better check before you buy.
Best regards.........David
