I am trying to programme a 55029 decoder to play either random or timed sounds.

I have loaded sounds, I can see how to set the timers and in theory vary the minimum and maximum intervals between random events although I get error messages when I try to vary CV 61& 62 with an ECos.

In a perfect world I would like to be able to have one function which played random, or timed at different intervals, workshop sounds when stationary and the associated function was live whilst parked at a depot for example.

Similarly the ability to occasionally use the SIFA sounds whilst running but at widely spaced random intervals which would not need to be tied to a function key.

It does seems very clever and in fairness to Marklin is doubtlessly designed primarily to be used with a Marklin project, possibly with an extra lamp or station announcement added by the user rather than a retro fit to random gauge one locos raiding the very interesting Marklin library or other recordings.

The Thomas the tank engine theme is a show stopper at exhibitions.

So I do understand, perhaps through gritted teeth, the lack of an expensive to produce and translate comprehensive manual from Marklin as it is designed as an upgrade path loaded with an of the shelf project rather than a ESU/Zimo competitor. But it is a well priced clever piece of kit and has some very good points especially the speed of loading completed projects.

The adaptor for the LGB 10 pin connector with that chopped off is a useful route to a socket for testing with a decoder tester that has screw terminals.

Does anybody know how to access these features? If they exist of course.

Found these new PDF files published by Maerklin

https://www.maerklin.de/...e-informationen/decoder/

for mSD3 / mLD3
https://www.maerklin.de/...mationen/msd3-Update.pdf

for mSD / mLD
https://www.maerklin.de/...ionen/CV-Tabelle-mSD.pdf

These files are only available via Maerklin's German website although the files are in German and English. They are pretty new.

Whereas these files

https://www.maerklin.de/en/service/downloads/

you get them via the English website as well.

For older decoders see here
