Hi there. I have a nice little Märklin 36244 which I got from Lippe back in January. I have been rebuilding my layout and last week, once I had a loop of track down, I gave this little loco a run around with full sound on.

Yesterday, I got it out to run again. It sat there making all the sounds but made no attempt to move. The loco hasn't been touched in any way so I am bemused as to why it won't move. Any ideas?

Hi David

Since the loco is under warranty I would not open it but rather do try a decoder reset (write O8 in CV8)
If this does not work it is better to send it back to Lippe (call them they will send you a slipper to pay for shipment).
Opening the loco is rather difficult on this model and it is quite delicate.
Problem possible causes:
- broken wire (blue or green between the motor an the decoder
- defective motor / brushes problem
- mechanical seizure (something prevents the motor / wheels to rotate.
Cheers

Jean
