Well I think the digital side is for the real enthusiast.
As for analog is is great for a quick setup say around the Christmas tree.
Even for a quick platform that will come down in a short time.
Digital is getting is for the more "involved" in the hobby and has a permanent place for the layout.

I like both digital and analog Märklin. I have many analog Märklin trains that will never be converted to digital. I really like the mechanical old technic analog Märklin. 800 series for example and older ”newer” models from 1960`s. It has something to do with my childhood watching for hours and hours when my Märklin trains were running on the track. Somehow I also like the sound of the reversing units... BigGrin Good memories... I’m a generation X and will soon be 45 years old. But my oldest locomotives are already 70 years old.
Märklin H0 digital layout. I have analog and digital H0 Collection. Rolling stock mostly from era I, II, III and IV. Märklin 1 gauge beginner.
