I am interested in using the random macro but all my experiments have failed to get it to work.

Does anyone have some experience of this feature?

Hello John,

you are already doing a very sophisticated use for a CS 3. Probably not very much friends have done it yet. Perhaps this blog "Railwayzone" helps you. The owner Soeren Lauritsen writes very good and helpful articels about the CS 3.

Here you find one about the CS 3 and the break macro

https://railway.zone/pos...w-to-use-the-brake-macro

I am still trying to understand this macro programming at a CS 3 as well, but my efforts are not yet good enough. There are some teaching videos from Maerklin at Maerklin's YT channel available, which helps myself. But these are in German.

ciao

Wolfgang

What do you understand by "random macro"?

Are you familiar with the function "extended mode" in the section "systems - settings"? Since software vers 1.3.3 is below the button "popup Fahrpult" a new button named "events extended mode" (in German: "Ereignisse - Erweiterter Modus"). Did you tickmarked this button? Normally it is set off. If you set this mode on a window pops up and offers more help.

I found this Maerklin learn video for this events extended mode at You Tube.

I set up the link even it is in German. Perhaps the pictures may help you.

Your screen shots showed me the way. I created an event with the macro. Then you open the macro listed. You find the macro shown in the left hand slot normally for automation. Adding the turnouts and clicking on the event showed the turnouts being selected randomly.

My intention is to create 3 loco events so that these trains leave the station in a random order to overcome the risk of boredom for repeat actions.

My screen shots are very similar. So thank you for your help.

John

Indeed pretty obvious really. Blink But sorry, that I understand German better as English and it is obvious using the German depiction only.BigGrin
