I recently bought the 34251 steam powered rail car. When I place it on the track it seems to stop and go as if there is not enough power in the track. As I run analog I had to reset it to the analog position. Any idea why it s stopping and going??? Thanks in advance you guys are always the best place to go with this sort of thing!!

if it's been in storage for a long time it may be gummed up. Put a tiny drop of oil on the motor bearings, gears and axles.

Can you place it upside down on some foam or a cloth and connect track power to the pickup and chassis? Just a pair of wires from the Trafo with the ends bared will be enough to test. Let it run like this with no load for a minute or two and it may start running smother until you can put it on the track and just get it nice and warmed up.
