Hi Miguel, Yes 39436 for Ep. II would be a nice accompaniment for the "Lok-Betriebsnummer 18 527, Betriebszustand um 1931" in the 26928 Rheingold set. 39436 is slightly different in many respects to the other Rheingold locos, so it would be an interesting addition to an era II collection. That means this new model will not appear as a Pfalz locomotive, unless it will as a phantasy livery.

Yes, I was quite intrigued with the process. The body seemed to be painted the overall red colour, then the sides are painted in the ink-jet printer, then there are some details put on the corners by tampon printing. Not sure if this last bit is as a result of the complaints about the corners of the tourist livery loco ...

As for the presentation of the herbst New Items, it was a most underwhelming introduction to the new items I think I have seen. The first 15 minutes were taken up with the 39378 160 Years of Marklin Br101, and the S3/6. Well, hang on, we've hundreds of the first one being made in the factory this morning, and it was announced with the last Insider mailing, and the S3/6 was anoounced over a week ago. Move on a bit faster.  The Br92 (M 39923, Trix 22977) had loco bodies being made in a plastic injection moulding machine during the factory tour. I do like the set of FS wagons to go with this loco. The 37807 V200 in blue/cream seems to be being hailed as new interior detailing, but looking at a 37802 in the shop at the museum, I think the 37807 is just a repaint of the 37802, nothing actually new about it otherwise. Then at the end they rattled through a heap of slides of the other new items, taking quite a short time per slide. very unimpressive presentation indeed. The only thing I was frustrated about was we were not able to buy it right away... see all the steps, see the locomotive fully built and packaged and having to leave empty handed... I guess a good exercice to learn to be patient! :))

Hi, are you sure, that it was the BR95? BR95 has a metal body not plastic. But the new BR92 has a plastic body and someone who made the tour told me that he has seen the make of BR92 bodies in the factory. kind regards Jörg

I've just taken a moment to look at the new items brochure. These are my comments on the items that caught my eye:
It was about time they brought out the Br92 with updated electronics. Mine is a Delta model and I'm tempted to get this new one instead of upgrading my old one.
The V200 in blue and cream is nice. I don't have one in these colours and I'm very much considering it.
The S3/6 is a beauty as I've commented before, but very expensive. I have to watch my purchases now that I'm a pensioner!
Love the Br95! It would go well with my Br85....

Was not very much used at this place, which I saw up there first time. At the end of the tour, was there not an assembly station for locos (as it was in prior years) in the production plant as well? I wanted to do the tour this year again. But first I had a traffic jam on the Autobahn, which delayed me by about an hour. Then there was a waiting time of about another hour for the plant tour. Never seen before. This was too much. So I sit down and had a beer and coffee in front of the new Maerklineum. Anyway Maerklin are changing parts of the IMA. For me it looked like they are concentrating Maerklin more and more in their plant yard with the steamer BR 44 inside and new Maerklineum. Also their new service desk for technical problems and repairs is now in the new Maerklineum. It was up at the Stauffer park before. But on the other hand their works canteen were closed. They had plenty of tents in their yard with this standard (often not enjoyable) food and drinks you get everywhere at such parties. Their canteen was much nicer and had more variety on food. The canteen was another part of the "Home of Maerklin", especially after a plant tour.
